OUR PROGRAMS
At Kandaakiat for Women Empowerment and Development we run a set of programs aimed at empowering Refugee women and girls find means of livelihood during their plight.
The following are some of our current programs
FOOD SECURITY, LIVELIHOOD AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENCE
To build community resilience to effects of climate change, on food security and livelihood, through
Advocacy for implementation of laws and policies that enhance family and community agricultural production and productivity, Build the capacity of the refugee women and the host community, through community based participatory action aimed at promoting food security, promoting climate smart agricultural practice to mitigate and adopt to climate change.
To enhancing women’s economic empowerment in order to improve their living conditions through Livelihood and life-skills development. This is through training, peer-learning from different groups, exchange visit to small income generating projects.
ADVOCATING FOR WOMEN GOOD HEALTH, SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS, SEXUAL GENDER BASE VIOLENCE

IMPROVED EQUITABLE ACCESS TO QUALITY BASIC AND TERTIARY EDUCATION OF GIRL AND BOYS.
Education is a key to success in life; it is a human rights issue.
Many girl-children are disadvantaged when it comes to education opportunities among the refugee’s community, due to resource and limited opportunities, so there is considerable number of the girl child drop out.
CONTINUOUS SOCIAL RESEARCH OF THEMATIC AREAS
KOWED will carry out continuous research in regard to women and girl child’s conditions in the local communities and develop a databank of information
that is useful in advocacy and helpful in enriching the membership of women, girl child and other development partners in knowledge on women’s issues specially the refugee’s women.
